What does it mean to be a disciple of Jesus? I grew up in a Christian home, went to and from different churches, read my Bible, and knew the stories well. But discipleship (or becoming a disciple myself) was never really on my radar. If I’m honest, I didn’t begin to understand in recent years that the Holy Spirit had been making me one. I felt unworthy and honored at the same time.
In this first episode of The Making of a Disciple, I’m sharing a little of that story and the questions that led me into this conversation.
Why are so many of us feeling stuck in our faith? Are we helping people become disciples? And have we understood what Jesus commissioned us to do? In my research, I found a lot that saddened me and gave me hope. Some of it challenged what I was seeing in the church. Some of it challenged me.
