When I began thinking about how to launch The Feisty Faith Podcast, I knew I couldn’t start without my dad. Over forty years ago, my parents said yes to Jesus. Their faith, their prayers, and the journey that followed helped lay the foundation for my own walk with God. But that journey hasn’t been without its wilderness seasons. In this first episode of *Conversations With My Dad: Reflections on a 40-Year Journey Through the Desert*, I sit down with my father to revisit where his faith began, how God changed his life, and what we’ve learned about spiritual freedom, family, and the ongoing work of sanctification. We talk about his encounter with Jesus at a small East Texas church, our family’s early years, the significance of our spiritual inheritance, and how God continues to redeem and restore what has been broken. This is a deeply personal conversation between a father and daughter, but I hope it encourages you to consider your own journey with the Lord. Because this is only the beginning of a much larger conversation. Over the next three episodes, we’ll wrestle with spiritual apathy, the idols we allow into our hearts, and what it means to surrender ourselves to God’s refining work. In this episode, we explore:
- My dad’s salvation testimony and how he first encountered Jesus
- The spiritual foundation we build within our families
- Generational influences, family wounds, and God’s redemptive work
- What it means to walk in freedom through Christ
- Sanctification and the ongoing renewing of our minds
