Intro Episode: Welcome to The Feisty Faith Podcast

Podcast, Season 1

January 16, 2024

In 1996, at 18, I had a radical encounter with Jesus that forever changed how I saw the world. But saying yes to what God was asking of me? Well, that was another story. 😉 In this introductory episode of The Feisty Faith Podcast, I’m pulling back the curtain on a deeply personal part of my journey, why I spent nearly fifteen years running from a calling I was afraid to embrace, and what finally brought me to take my seat at the podcast table. I share how my fear of rejection caused me to tuck away a significant part of my story, and how the Lord has spent years pruning, preparing, and teaching me what it means to walk in obedience to Him. And then there’s the bigger question: Why another Christian podcast? Because I believe some women are hungry for more. Women who love Jesus but have grown weary, wrestle with hard questions, confront the residue of the world in their lives, and wonder what it looks like to step boldly into what God is asking of them. Women who are no longer willing to settle for passive, comfortable Christianity. In this episode, I share:

  • My personal encounter with Jesus in 1996
  • How fear of rejection kept me running from God’s calling
  • What the Lord has taught me through years of pruning and preparation
  • Why I started The Feisty Faith Podcast
  • Who this podcast is for and the conversations we’ll be having
  • Why I’m beginning this journey with a four-part series featuring my dad

We’ll be talking about faith, obedience, spiritual freedom, and the hard things we sometimes have to wrestle through as followers of Jesus. And we’re beginning with family. Our first series, Conversations With My Dad: Reflections on a 40-Year Journey Through the Desert, explores my father’s journey with Jesus, spiritual apathy, idolatry, surrender, and the ongoing work of God in our lives. So, if you’re a woman who’s been playing it safe, wrestling with a calling, or longing to get fired up in your faith again, I’ve saved you a seat at the table. Bring your questions, your messiness, your overwhelm, and your willingness to let the Lord do a deeper work. Because faith wasn’t meant to be boring. Scripture: 2 Timothy 4:7 — Paul’s testimony of fighting the good fight, finishing the race, and keeping the faith.
